Marty is no stranger to hard work and dedication, having spent 24yrs with the NZ Navy, including Secondments Peacekeeping with the UN. He then moved to Marlborough 20 years ago, purchasing Thymebank (a hydroponic lettuce and herb business), which he went on to grow to a nationally recognised and Trusted Brand, prior to selling the business. He believes that hard work and dedication were the key ingredients to his success. Marty is also an active sportsperson, having represented New Zealand in age group Triathlon and Ironman as a younger man, he has now proved that age is no barrier having again qualified for the Hawaii Ironman World Championships again this year, 30 years since first competing there. Marty is actively involved in establishing and growing Water Polo in the province, which has seen Marlborough teams achieve national honors. He is now transferring his experience and work ethic to growing and strengthening the Harcourts team. Marty believes relationships are the cornerstone to any business transaction. “It’s not necessarily about selling, it’s more about forming relationships, adding value and establishing trust. If someone wants to see me for advice, they don’t have to be selling anything, we can just catch up for a cuppa and a chat”.
Here's the Kiwi retreat you've been waiting for. Set on the tip of a peninsula with jaw-dropping views over the Marlborough Sounds, this place is more than a property-it's a lifestyle. With over 8000m² of land plus a 1/10 share in another 80 hectares of native forest, you've got all the space you need to roam, explore, or simply kick back and let the world slow down. You'll have your own jetty and two private moorings, so there's no waiting around for public jetties, and your mates can pull up their boats too. After more than 20 years, the family has decided it's time to let someone else soak up this incredible spot. The two-bedroom house, plus a separate bunkroom/sleepout, means there's room for everyone-bring the extended family, or host friends who won't want to leave. And if you're after a morning coffee, long lunch, or cosy dinner, Te Rawa Lodge is just 3km away. Think about mornings spent fishing off your jetty, watching the kids bomb into the water, or teaching them to waterski in the bay's calm waters. Those quick dips soon turn into whole days by the water, doing absolutely nothing-or everything. If you're feeling more adventurous, follow the track back up the peninsula and into the shared forest, rich with native birdlife. This could be the holiday spot you never want to leave, or maybe the beginning of your new life in the Sounds. Contact Martyn and make this dream a reality.
